OTR Class A Truck Driver

Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of product to customers in a matter and condition that meets customer and company requirements.  Also responsible for the timely reporting of overages, shortages, damages and delays.

Responsibilities

Deliveries: Transport and deliver goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by Dispatcher.  Assist in unloading freight as required.  Properly secure loads and ensure loads are within weight limits

Quality: Verify count and condition of goods loaded and unloaded.  Make reports of overages, shortages and breakage/damage as needed.  Maintain daily driver logs.  Complete vehicle inspection reports.

Driving: Operate the truck/trailer units in a safe manner.  Report any vehicle problems and defects to Transportation Manager.  Comply with all Local, State and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations.  Maintain a good driving record.

Relationships: Ensure good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner

Qualifications 

  1. Education:  High School Diploma
  2. Experience:  1+ years of verifiable experience
  3. Knowledge/Skills:  Valid Class “A” Commercial Driver’s license, skillful in the safe operation of different types of Class A trucks.  Pass a DOT physical and annual recertification’s.
  4. Special Requirements: Pass pre-employment drug screening and a complete background check

Quality & Safety Manager

Tighe Logistics Group is seeking a reliable, self-driven and team-oriented professional with problem solving, communication, and management skills for the position of Quality and Safety Manager. We offer a competitive compensation package and opportunity for growth.

The Quality and Safety Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving operational quality & safety processes, investigating customer complaints, and establishing & auditing the corporate safety & quality programs. The Safety Quality Manager must be able to understand core business service objectives, processes, and provide support for the operations team through analytical tools and analysis across Tighe’s multiple sites.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure compliance with safety procedures and expectations.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve quality by completing company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new procedures and designs, and training methods.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality standards, methods, instructions, and quality planning on the assigned program(s); perform surveys, internal audits, and process audits.
  • Implement and improve quality control operating procedures.
  • Ensure deliverables are met as defined in order to achieve success.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal staff to ensure effective communication continued improvement is achieved across all functional areas.
  • Perform other requests and duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (specifically, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to see the overall picture.
  • Ability to solve problems and adapt to situations requiring solutions to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members of management, coworkers, customers, partners, and other visitors.
  • Ability to multitask in stressful and fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to create easily understood procedures to ensure quality control.
  • Ability to communicate and train employees on the proper quality procedures.

Education, Experience and Certification

  • At least 5-8 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Prior 3PL experience in a quality/safety role is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • ISO 9000 Certification or Six Sigma, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control procedures and relevant legal standards.
