Warehouse Manager-Winchester

FLSA Status: Salaried

 

Organization: This position reports directly to the Director of Operations. Reporting to this position are all warehouse associates and forklift operators.

 

Location: Winchester, MA

General Information

The warehouse manager has general responsibility for coordinating all warehouse activities on a daily, shift or team basis. Responsible for leading or supervising the receiving, storage and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.

Responsibilities:

Help establish work schedules. Ensure that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are completed properly. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, coaching and disciplining associates. Provide input into performance evaluation for recommending promotions, wage increases, associate development and terminations.

Supervise checking and unloading or inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, picking, and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high level of productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.

Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage.

Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Compute and analyze daily, weekly production metrics.

Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts. Maintain product locator system. Ensure the optimal utilization of space. Rotate product as appropriate.

Ensure the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment.

Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining warehouse security. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.

Conduct warehouse safety meetings on a monthly basis. Act as a liaison between employees and upper management. Communicate industry and brand knowledge to all associates.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 2 years of experience. If candidate does not have a Bachelor’s degree, it can be substituted by relevant experience.

Requires good supervisory and communication skills. Familiarity with personal computers and material handling equipment is essential. Strong decision-making and coaching skills. Able to drive results.

Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use proper techniques to lift 50 pounds. Familiarity with MHE is required. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight
